Food and Drink

Hippocrates said - "Let food be thy medicine and medicine thy food" and "All diseases begin in the gut."

The nutritional value of food diminishes with storage duration. Most western supermarket food is normally many days or months old and fast grown on mineral depleted soil.

Most of the food at RA comes from our farm and is served soon after harvesting. Its grown on mineral rich soil from the banks of the Amazon which is mixed with the natural soil, composted kitchen waste mixed with leaves from various trees including the Ice Cream Bean Tree ( Guaba ) which is high in nitrogen and minerals and planted throughout the farms to nutrify the soil.

 Water

Adults are about 70% water and it's the single most important part of our nutritional requirements.

You will drink two types of water which are indicative of a founding principal of The RA Initiative- ie achieving harmony and balance between the Sun and Mother Earth . We collect rainwater from roofs and groundwater from our natural Artesian Well . It is filtered and boiled. There is no chemical disinfecting resulting in highly energetic marvellous tasting sweet water.

Individualised Diet

A maximum of two visitors can come to be treated for specific health issues discussed prior to booking. There will be a very specific testing program for all foods and medicinal plants using the personal wavelength technique. The diet will be advised in part also with the Curandero Shaman who will be advised by the Ayahuasca spirit.

Food preferences will be catered for for everyone of course.

Chickens

There are three varieties- fully wild , commercial egg layers and hybrids.

We are concentrating on the Hybrids so we can naturally breed a strain which has the self sufficiency and free range diet of the wild variety with the increased egg laying capacity of the commercial type. The eggs from the hybrids and commercial type are delicious and the wild type eggs ( sometimes blue!) are prized for their medicinal qualities. They are smaller than the commercial ones but cost twice as much in the markets because of their healing properties. Recent studies have shown protection from pathogenic viruses from eating Eggs.

Fish

There are currently 4 different edible fish species in the two fish farms with the Sabalo being the most prized.
